How to Get Referred
If you are interested in any of the programmes offered by Workwise and want to get back to work, then the best thing to do is contact us.
To fund your referral you will need to access your Personal Budget. This is normally done through your Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) with whom you have a current Care Plan and a Care Co-ordinator (Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN), Social Worker (SW), Occupational Therapist (OT) who can refer you to Workwise.
Arrange a visit
Your Care Co-ordinator can arrange for you to have an initial interview where you can visit all the departments to explore your options. The idea is that you:
- Take control of your life
- Decide what you would like to do
- Take the pressure off yourself (we will support you through your training)
Frequently asked questions
| Can I bring someone with me on my visit? | You may attend alone, with your Care Co-ordinator or with a support worker/key worker or a family member. |
| What if I need training but I don’t have a Care Co-ordinator? | You can still access some employability training courses through Worklink. Contact Neil or ring on 01284 755261 |
|
How many days do I need to attend? |
Attendance can vary from one to five days a week as best suits the individual and funding arrangements. You can build up work stamina and confidence in your own abilities at your own pace. |
|
Can I try it out first? |
Yes, we encourage you to do a Taster Day before you apply for funding. That way you are sure it is right for you and we can better prepare a development plan that is right for you, before you apply for your Personal Budget. |
| When can I start? | If you decide ‘Workwise is for you', a start date can be arranged on the interview day. |
| What if I want to do two different things or change my mind about what I want to do? | Together we will create an agreed plan of action that is designed to best meet your identified needs while at Workwise. Regular support sessions will ensure that your training programme is still suited to your needs and focussed on increasing your confidence level. |
|
How do I get there? |
