Technology Processes - CAD, CAM
Technology Processes includes the opportunity to learn about engraving, sandblasting glassware and printing of textiles, but can start simply by sharing skills and integrating with a new group of people.
As a start for your work-based training, this department will help you to work and communicate with others in a working environment, but we will encourage you to move on to gain a wider range of skills.
CAD design is an important IT skill to learn, however the course is not offered in isolation and must have an end purpose, so individuals learning CAD do so with a plan for further development within this or other departments. If you are doubtful about your level of IT ability or are even a complete beginner, this is not a barrier – just ask and we will provide you with IT training to bring you up to the required level.
Learning to use the digital engraving tools and CNC operations or the glass sand-blasting can give you a step forward towards producing items for customers or for CAVERN 4. As well as House Signs, there is a wide range of corporate signage and embroidery, quilting, digital printing and simple engraved badges that regularly need to be produced. You will also learn to work with other departments, helping with cutting, printing and finishing various materials.
This department also includes other valuable jobs like delivery driving in the Workwise van and provides an opportunity to gain communication and team working skills.
